Speedball Legends

 
 
  • Men
    • Hussein LOTFY: He was the first Speedball player, he was the one who set the style of play and was the first Speedball world champion in 1986 and competed till 1991 in 6 successive world championships and collected 7 gold medals.
      Hussein is the son of Mr.Mohamed Lotfy the founder of Speedball and he helped him in putting the rules of the new sport in the sixties of the last century he also was the Captain of the teams who made the demonstrations of the new sport in many countries (Lebanon,USA, Russia, France).
    • Nayer Dawa: He Was Holding the record of 14 gold medals collected in 11 championships till Japan 2010  .He specialised in the single and double competitions.
      He became the president of the Egyptian Speedball Federation from 2004 till 2008.
    • Cedric Polin: Won 7 gold medals from 1988 to 1992 (2 in the supersolo, 2 in the men doubles, one in the men doubles and 2 in the mixed doubles), Cedric became the coach of the French national Speedball team.
    • David CLUZEL: Was the best player in the world in the Supersolo competition as he won 8 gold medals in the ten years from 1989 till 1998 (he lost only twice in1990 when his team-mate Cedric Polin came first and in 1995 as he came second to the Egyptian champion Mostafa KAMEL who recorded 531 for the first time and was a new world record).
      David had a unique style in the Supersolo and he also played all other types of competitions and collected a total of 10 gold medals.
      in 1996 he recorded a new record of 548 beat per 4 minutes (b/4m).
    • Ahmed SHERIF: Was a brilliant Egyptian Speedball single and double player who collected 7 gold medals in world championships from 1991 to 1996.
    • Ahmed GOMAA: He set the new style for single competition which he mastered and followed by many players in his unique way of playing, he collected 4 gold medals in the single and doubles.
      Ahmed died in 2006 and so Speedball lost a nice and talented young man.
    • Ahmed FAWZY: Collected 12 Gold medals over 12 championships from 1998 to 2009. He specialised in the single and the doubles.
    • Nabil IMAM: Is the Speedball Superstar as he is Holding the record of Golden Medals with 15 Golden Medal after winning last 2 in Japan 2010.
      Nabil shared in 1998 and 1999 and won the junior's competition.
      He collected 15 gold medals in the men's competitios over 9 championships from 2000 till 2009 as ( as there was no championship in 2001 and he did not share in 2004).
      He recorded new world records in the Supersolo in: 2000 (562 b/4m), 2002 (567 b/4m).
    • Mohamed LOTFY: Was the youngest player to win a gold medal when he came first in the supersolo competition in the 1999 world championship when he was 15 years old.
      He collected 5 gold medals over 6 world championships from 1998 to 2004. Mohamed is the grandson of Mr.Lotfy the founder of Speedball and he carries his name.
    • Yasser HEFNY: Is the holder of the Supersolo world record since 2008 when he achieved 570 b/4m and then 593 b/4m in 2009 world championship.
    • Osama FAWZY, Ashraf FAWZY, Osama HEGAZY,Dimitry FALINE, Guillome TAPI, Ahmed IMAM, Islam ASHRAF and Aly IMAM all collected three or four gold medals in different world championships.
  • Women
    • Ghada TANTAWY: collected 6 gold medals in the ladies and mixed doubles from 1988 till 1992.
    • Radwa ELSHARKAWY: Holds the record of 15 gold medals collected in seven years from 1989 till 1996. She is now the coach of the ladies in the Egyptian national Speedball team.
    • Ranya EID: Was the youngest girl to win a gold medal in 1993 championship when she was only 13 years old.
    • Nada MAMDOUH: Holds the world record in Ladies' Supersolo 522 b/4m scored in the 23rd world championship in Cairo, 2009. She collected 9 gold medals in the last 6 championships.
    • Randa ELSHARKAWY, Orkid MAHMOUD, Heba REDA, Sondos MAHMOUD and Rawda TOMOUM all collected more than 5 gold medals in successive world championships.
    • Iman SALAH, Mona HOSSAM, Omneya ABDELHAMID, Karin DELGORGUE, Hala MAHMOUD, Florance MARCHAL, Menatollah ABDELAZIZ, Sara GAAFAR, Manar IBRAHIM, Nourhan ABDELSALAM and Roaa ELHELALY, All collected three or four gold medals in world championships over the years.
