SPEEDBALL

- A new sport of ball & racket.
- Invented & introduced to the world by Mr. Mohamed Lotfy from Egypt in 1961.
- The international speedball federation (FISB) was founded in 1985 by the membership of Egypt, France & Japan.
- Several other countries joined the FISB (USA,Austria,Slovania,Denmark & Sweeden).

- Speedball is the most recent ball & racket sport.
- It is easy to play by both sexes at all ages.
- It can be played by two players (single), four players (double) & one player (supersolo).
- Recently the team relay competition was introduced.
- A new competition was designed by the founder, that is the team rally competition.

THE SUPER SOLO COMPETITION:
|

- It is played against the clock (the super solo play).
- Each player hits the ball in both directions (fore-hand , back-hand and so on).
- The number of hits/minute is scored.
- Each player has to play 4 types of play (right hand,left hand,two hands fore-hand & two hands back-hand)one minute each type With 30 seconds rest interval.
- A new competition was designed by the founder, that is the team rally competition.

The Supersolo compet.
|

- The winner is the player who gets the highest total score in the 4 types of play.
- The World record for men is 593 scored by Yasser HEFNY from Egypt in 2009.
- The world record for ladies is 522 scored by the Egyptian Nada Mamdouh in 2009.

- In the junior competitions (under the age of 14 ys) each type of play is played for 30 seconds with 30 seconds rest interval between each.
- Junior competitions are held for the ages of : 8,10,12,14 ys.
- The international competition is for the open age group(seniors) and under 16 y(juniors) both will play 4minutes(1 X 4 ).

SPEEDBALL Team relay competition:
|

- Each team is composed of four players, each player will play one type of play for 30 seconds the ball should be kept turning, (no rest interval) and the next player hits the ball while it is running.
- The summ of the four scores is the team score.

The Single competition:
|
| |
- It is a game between two players.
- Two types are present in each age category (men’s & ladies’ singles).
- The game is out of 10 points, while the match is a best of three or a best of five games.
- One player (A) starts by serving in the direction of his right hand forehand,(clockwise) he can serve by his left hand back-hand.
- The next point the other player (B) serves,then the serve alternates between A & B successively.
- The next game player (B) serves
- Only if the game is tied (one game for each player), a final game is played .In the final game,a new toss for serving is made.
- A player wins a point if he makes the ball turns two times in succession infront of his oponent.
- A player wins a point if his oponent:
- hits the ball into the pole.
- enters the 60 cm Forbidden (neutral) zone (located between the 2 sides of the court).
- lets the racket drop from his hand.
- hits the thread without the ball.
- makes the thread turn around the pole.
- Serving:
- The serve should be horizontal.
- The server should play the serve while fixing one of his feet on the serving line (located at the centre of his court). Failure to fulfill the above is a serve mistake.
- The server should not make the pole shakes with serving.
- If the server makes a serving mistake he serves a second serve.
- The server looses a point if he performs two serve mistakes.and the serve shifts to his opponent.

The Doubles competition:
|
| |
- Each team is composed of two players (two men,two ladies or mixed double).
- Each player of the four, serves in his turn successively.
- If player A from the team A-B serves, player X from the other team X-Y receives.The next point X will serve and B will receive, and so on.
- A toss determines the server & the receiver at the start of the first game, if team A-B serves first, so team X-Y will start serving the second game.The team who receives has the advantage of choosing the receiver at the start of the game.(then this order is fixed).
- If the game is tied a toss is made for the final game, the serving order is followed as before but in this decisive game the receiver is a free choice of the receiving team who has to announce the receiver before starting each point.

SPEEDBALL The team Rally compet.:

- Two players of one team play together (one plays fore-hand & the other plays back-hand).
- Each player will leave the ball to complete one circle then he is allowed to hit it.
- Both players try to play as fast as possible, the number of hits per minute is their team’s score

The edge of SPEEDBALL
|
| |
- It is the first and only ball & racket sport to be played against the clock.
- Players should play with both hands in the supersolo.
- The first ball & racket game to be played in a relay fashion.
- In the single & double matches the players can hit the ball by their full power and in any direction provided that the ball turns in its correct path. In other ball & racket sports the player force is limited by the boundaries of the court.
- SPEEDBALL court is only 6x4m. for the single play and 8x6m. for the doubles.
- SPEEDBALL is not expensive the equipments of one court do not exceed 60 $.
- SPEEDBALL utilities are easy to carry anywhere, thus making training easy for everyone,anywhere.
